About Our Finishes
Recycled Paper Series
While Paper provides the color and look a tough top coat proveds texture and durability.
In order to reduce the use of natural resources and the production of waste:
- Industrial liquid waste is fully recovered for the production of resins.
- Most craft and decorative papers needed for the production of American Loft laminates contain recovered/recycled materials (saw dust, filler, cellulose and recycled papers).
- Some of the waste of the semi-finished and finished products is used to produce backer laminates.
- Scraps and waste from the semi-finished and finished product are processed into incinerators recovering energy.
- The paper used in the production of American Loft is obtained from raw material (cellulose) coming from a sustainable use of forests. American Loft’s main supplier of decorative and craft papers comply with FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) – SF1 PEFC CoC Standards or other relevant International Certification Systems of Forest Management.
Solid Wood
All of the five panel doors are solid 3/4″ wood on the outer frame with a 1/2″ center panel. Common species selections are Birch, Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Oak, Alder and Lyptus. Others are available upon request.
All protective top coat finishes are water-based low VOC.
Wood Veneer
All slab (flat) doors are made with wood veneers for stability and consistency. Birch, Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Oak, Alder and Lyptus are available plus a large selection of unusual wood finishes made from common, fast growing trees that are ‘engineered’ to appear to be exotic species. All are created on a sustainable business model.
All protective top coat finishes are water-based low VOC.
